Two bowls of the same model, side by side, are never quite twins. One opens a little wider, the other is a little heavier, and the glaze has not run in the same place.
These differences come from the gesture. Every piece is thrown by hand, one at a time: the clay responds to the pressure of the fingers, the speed of the wheel, the humidity of the day. Nothing is moulded, nothing is calibrated by a machine.
The glaze adds its share. Applied by hand, it thickens here and thins there, and the kiln decides the rest. The same glaze can come out lighter, more speckled or deeper depending on its place in the firing.
The photos in the shop show the piece as it came out of the kiln. The one you receive will look like it, with its own nuances. That is what makes it unique, and why it is kept for a long time.
